Free Internet Advertising Tips (Part 2)

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to get a free copy of my "Succeed In 30 Days" marketing course.

Just fill out the form on the right and I'll send you the link!.

This is probably the most important part of the whole ad and where most people drop the ball.

There are a lot of good ad writers that have no problem mapping out a great ad complete with bullet points, testimonials, guarantees and so on. But then they get to that last paragraph of the ad and
they drop the ball.

I can’t tell you how many last paragraphs I’ve read that go something like this…

“Here’s the site where you can get this fantastic package at this ridiculously low price.”

And then they give the URL.

Yuck!

What do you honestly think a closing like that is going to do?

It will do absolutely … NOTHING!

You CAN get this fantastic package?

You might as well have written, “Well, if you feel like it, you can get this package at the URL below.”

You might as well kiss your conversions GOODBYE!

If you want people to buy from you, then you MUST close STRONG.

There are plenty of ways to do this.

Here is one of my favorites that I use to close people who still think that posting to free classified sites is going to make them millionaires:

“Bottom line is this.

If you keep promoting your site the way you are today, you will continue to get the results that you’re getting, which I know for a fact are HORRIBLE. So, if you want to FINALLY see some success, then you MUST go to the site below. Otherwise you are just going to keep spinning your wheels and getting nowhere.”

Can you see the difference there?

That’s how to close.

Just remember, close STRONG.

You may not get another chance.

Free Internet Advertising Tips To Improve Website Advertising

Monday, March 17th, 2008

As important as advertising is, as far as what avenues to use, ad writing is probably even more important. The reason is simple.

No matter what form of advertising you use, if the ad you write is crap, you’re not going to get the results that you’re looking for, if any at all.

In this post, I’m going to concentrate on email marketing and your subject.

Get the subject right!

The subject is where most people get tripped up right from the start.

The reason is because if you’re subject isn’t compelling, people aren’t going to open your email. If they don’t open your email, it doesn’t matter how good the actual ad is. Nobody is going to see it.

So what’s a good subject for email promotion? Well, the better way to go about this is to explain what a bad subject is. A bad subject is one that is full of hype and totally unbelievable. I can’t tell you how many subjects I see that are something like this….

“Make $30,000 in 7 days with NO work”

Nobody worth their salt is going to believe a subject like that. And the ones who do are looking for a free way to do it and won’t turn into paying customers anyway.

So stay away from subjects like this.

A GOOD subject is one that raises curiosity.

Here’s an example.

“Discover the ONE traffic secret that will increase your traffic by500%”

Now whether or not the person reading this is the least bit skeptical, they’re going to want to know what that one traffic secret is.

Curiosity IS going to get the better of them.

These are the kind of subjects you want to use.

Notice I use the word “discover” and NOT “learn”. The reason you don’t EVER want to use the word “learn” is because learning involves work.

Discovering is like the information just falls into the person’s lap and gets automatically soaked up.

A subject that forces your prospect to open your email is critical. So when constructing one, ask yourself if you were to see the same kind of subject if YOU would open that email.

See you next time with more ad writing tips!
