One of the things that I get from a lot of my readers is that they really need help getting over the basics of internet marketing. The biggest hurdles to overcome are often the first ones and include things such as choosing a good affiliate program, creating a good squeeze page to promote, building a list and following up with that list to make sales.
I know because I was in the exact same situation a few years ago when I first started. But trust me, once you get over those first few hurdles, it get’s a LOT easier as you go along.

Even though many people WANT to make money online, few will actually take the ACTION necessary to get started. I don’t want to spend my time and energy putting this together if everyone says they want it, but nobody actually uses it.
And the trouble with giving something away for free, is that people often don’t attach any value to it.
If you paid $1997 for something, I can guarantee you’d use it, but free stuff just seems to get downloaded and forgotten about.
So before I start, I need to know that people will put it into use if I spend the time to create it.
1) I’ll create an affiliate program to a hot selling product (that’s sold over 4,000 copies)
2) I’ll give you access to sign up and earn $50 commissions on it.
3) I’ll create a high-impact squeeze page for you to promote it (and build your very own list too)
4) I’ll create a follow up email series to make you more sales of this product.
5) I’ll add additional email promotions for other high-converting products too.
6) I may even create a series of articles you can use to submit to different directories.
So, what I’m giving you here is a complete sales package to get you started with a REAL profitable internet business. By using this you’ll get to build a list of targeted prospects and generate affiliate sales from multiple products.
Now, one thing that I have to stress before I go any further is that this is going to be a business … so that does mean there will be costs.
If you think that you can make a million dollars online without spending a penny, you are sadly mistaken.

What you will get in return for that 82c a day is an actual system to make money just like myself and thousands of others are doing every day. Most importantly, this is an investment – you may be spending $25 a month, but that could soon be making you $250 a month or more.
Remember, most experts say that every person on your list is worth about $1 per month to you. So if you can get 25 people to optin to the squeeze page (that I design for you) your expenses could be paid for.

@ Barbara – The idea behind this is that I want to help you build a list.
By giving you a squeeze page you can use, you’ll be able to drive traffic to that and people opting in will go on your list.
You will have to get an autoresponder and hosting first (which is why I mentioned it in the original post).
Also, I’ll write a follow-up series for you to try and increase the amount of sales you make. Often people need to see a product multiple times before they purchase – which is why the follow up is so important.
And anyone promoting will get $50 commissions, so you’ll just need one sale every 2 months to cover your costs.

@ Kathleen – without seeing the autoresponder Alastair mentioned, I cannot say too much.
What I can say though is that when I first started, I tried to do things the “free” way and it ended up costing me in the long run.
I built my first list of 1,000+ subscribers using a free autoresponder service and then it went out of business so I lost ALL of my list.
If the $19.95 one time AR is one that you host yourself I would say don’t bother with it. Even if it’s hosted somewhere else, I would say don’t bother.
The reason services like GetResponse and Aweber are used so widely is that their email gets delivered – this is because they spend huge amounts of time, working with different ISPs to make sure that the email gets through.
You pay them a monthly fee yes, but they spend time and money making sure that your email gets through. That’s what your paying for – their service. With a one time fee, I’m not sure what service you can expect.
Most people with an autoresponder that they host on their own server cannot get their email delivered properly. So even though you may save yourself the 17 bucks a month, very few people will even get your mail.
If nobody gets your emails, nobody can click on your links to make you sales…
My reason for doing all this is that I want to see everyone be able to start building a real list, and a real business.
To do that, I am going to recommend that you use professional services for hosting and autoresponder.
One thing that a lof of people have trouble with is getting in the mindset that you want this to be a business – not a hobby.
If you cut corners right from the start, then you’re setting yourself up for failure down the road.
I know this may sound harsh, but it took me 2 years to get it right in my own head, and I don’t want it to take that long for everyone else
That’s why I stated in my original post that you should be aware that you’re going to need to invest the ~$25 in professional services for your business.

I just wanted to echo what you said about autoresponders. Last year I tried a cheap service and pulled my hair out with frustration. I switched to Getresponse the end of August of 2007 and it has made a world of difference and they are incredbly helpful.
I don’t want to label all cheap auto responders as poor quality but my experience was not pleasant and cost me money and time in the long run. People I have talked to recommend either aweber or Getresponse. The frustration soon outways the cost.

It would be very nice to have a package to help newcomers and those who haven’t found success so far, to start getting dollars into their accounts.
However, since there is always a feeling of uncertainty when starting off, I think it would be better to have a one-time charge for newcomers.
Have two levels of membership. One for those starting. Let them save hosting charges by having their websites on a free hosting service and maybe a free autoresponder as well, with limited features, so that they can get to say a 2,000 – 2,500 dollar level per month.
Once they have achieved this level of earning, let them move to their own domains and hosting with autoresponders, tracking and other tools.

@ Hartej – As far as getting the affiliate package there will be no charge from me to use that. However, you will need the hosting and autoresponder.
Having tried to do it the “free” way when I started, I would strongly discourage it. The free services are free for a reason.
As I explained in a reply above, I ended up losing my first 1,000+ subscribers by using a free autroresponder that went out of business and there was no way I could get those leads into another service.
As David Robertson echoed above “The frustration soon outweighs the cost”
In my opinion, using free tools is seriously going to put any income you start generating in jeopardy.
@ Tom Johnson – The site will be completely customizable if you wish – it’ll be a standard html squeeze page. Nothing “elaborate” but merely designed to get the optin to build your list.
As it’s HTML you can change it completely with a simple editor, though my goal is to make it as easy for people to use without needing to have a masters degree in HTML coding
The way I’m planning it, all you need would to do is change two variables in the file (like your autoresponder campaign name, and your affiliate ID).
I’ll create a video to show people how to do that, and it can be done easily in Notepad too.

I have a website and Aweber autoresponder – following sensible advice such as yours since starting earlier this year. But I don’t want to spend any more money before I start getting a return on my investment.
I have posted some articles and use free traffic exchanges, but so far I’m not getting enough traffic to build my list and get sales.

However, I want to add something — are you going to be giving everyone the very same website with all the same content? — you see I have tried this and gotten NO PLACE — everyone promoting the same thing and eventually no one is left to buy – so no sales and no list.
If you remember, back in January I join ‘Succeed in 30 Days’ but had some problems when I was signing up for my domain name and it was such a hassle that I dropped it, unfortunately at the time I was having so much pains in my knee and had to have it operated (even had more problems), so I did not try again.
But as you can see, I have not given up as yet on the Internet….I will surely use this new program that you are offering and I do have a very good autoresponder, so I won’t need to spend more on that.
Let me hear from you when you have decided what you will do – I am very interested.

I think this is a great idea for newbies. My only concern is that if all of these people are promoting the exact same product in the exact same way, the competition for getting your site seen is extremely high. I have joined programs before where they tell you how to promote the product and give you the web page and I have failed because I haven’t had the time or the money to be able to effectively promote it so that my site is seen more than all the other people who are doing the same thing. Just my thoughts.

While I will be giving everyone the same basic template to use for the squeeze page I do not think that competition is as big a problem as a lot of people think.
There are so many ways to get traffic to a website, and with hundreds of millions of people online, even a couple of hundred people with the same site won’t be a problem.
If you all start bidding on PPC for the product name then yes, that will cause some competition, but you just have to diversify in your traffic generation methods…
